Community Church Stand

Leader: Les Jessen, Travis Loecker and Phil Schroeder

For more than 40 years, St. Mark's has operated an incredibly successful fair stand that serves food during the weekend of the Knox County Fair in August of every year.  Working together and serving the community brings out the best in us and it is  one of the congregation's favorite events

Now an exciting new venture is underway!

In the spring of 2013 ground was broken on a brand new building that brings together the work of St. Mark's ELCA, Trinity Lutheran LCMS and, and Christ Memorial UMC.  All three churches took down their aging fairstands and committed to investing in a new building together called the Community Church Stand.  It is managed by a board with representatives from all the churches and members will be working together to feed the thousands that come to the fair.  It's charts a new course for the future and is a bold step forward in cooperative small-town ministry.  So come and enjoy some burgers, or chili cheese fries, or pie and ice cream, or pizza or walking tacos or just the company of good friends.  Now only will your stomach be happy, but your spirit will be 'filled up' as well.

"How good it is when kindred dwell together in unity" says the psalmist.  We hope to live in that truth.
